Welcome to the new VIA Studio

As a web marketing, design and development agency, VIA Studio has never kept much of an active web presence. Suffice it to say that the old adage “the cobbler’s children always need shoes” is quite active and real in our industry. In the long process of rebranding our company I’ve had the fortune to review websites and branding strategies of many other companies in our industry. There are some out there that I would consider exceptional, but for the most part not enough.

This rebrand is an intentional push for our company to become vocal leaders in our field, both regionally and nationally. Our combined experience is something that I think should be shared. VIA Studio, as far as I know, is the oldest web/interactive agency in Kentucky. We’ve done great work (and some bad work too!) and learned many lessons along the way. The most amazing thing I think is that we’ve been through the ringer and come out the other side shining. Specifically the last two years have been a period of great growth. Again, I think our experience is worth chatting about.

The other big issue is that in 5 years being a partner in this company I still get asked all the time, “what do you do?”. It’s a hard question to answer, because communication these days is diverse and expansive. The old terms Marketing, Advertising, Media don’t fit. Even the new terms Interactive Agency, Web Design, Web Development don’t fit either. We could get into cliches real fast and say cryptic things like “we create solutions”, “we leverage efficiences”, “we solve problems”… You get my point. Snooze-tastic. None of these phrases make sense.

That’s why I think we need to blog a little bit. So sit back, relax, enjoy the show. Hopefully you may learn something. If we’re really lucky, we may learn something from you! You’ll notice we have comments turned off for the time being. If we get enough response and requests, we’ll turn them on after we’ve tuned the site.
